Kelly Reader is a New York based Actress and Singer. Kelly was born and raised in a small town in South Jersey. Kelly started performing at a young age. In her freshman year of high school, Kelly was cast as featured dancer Lorraine Flemming in 42nd Street. This was the moment Kelly first realized she could pursue a career in theatre. Throughout her four years Kelly performed in all of the school's musicals, Anything Goes (Ensemble), West Side Story (Somewhere Soloist) and Crazy for You (Patricia Fodor/Ensemble). Kelly also performed in A Midsummer's Night Dream (Thisbe/Flute). In addition to performing in shows, Kelly was also in Chamber Choir, a member of the Dance Team and performed in several Concerts including Project Dance. Outside of the Arts Kelly was also in the Ambassadors Club and a member of the Spanish National Honors Society.
After high school Kelly moved to New York to attend Pace University as a BFA Acting Major where she met Steven McCasland who directed her in several student projects including Alice Unwrapped (Alice), Crossing Brooklyn (Kevin) and Antigone (Sentry). Kelly also performed in the mainstage production of A Christmas Carol.
In addition to studying at Pace University, Kelly also did a Summer Conservatory Program at the Stella Adler Studio of Acting and has studied under the Kimberly Vaughn Performance Studio.
Kelly worked with McCasland outside of Pace with his theatre company Beautiful Soup. Kelly played Louise in Liliom and also performed in 2 shows, 28 Marchant Avenue (Pat Kennedy) and Neat and Tidy (Amanda/Natalie), as part of Beautiful Soup's 5 Plays in Repertory featuring plays by McCasland. Most recently Kelly was part of the ensemble of Onward Victoria at Feinstein's/54 Below directed by McCasland with musical direction by James Horan starring several Original Broadway cast members including Jill Eikenberry. She returned to Feinstein's/54 Below to play Alice in Bring Back Birdie.
Kelly has also performed in several cabarets at the Laurie Beechman Theatre and Don't Tell Mama's. Last year Kelly made her debut with the Heights Players in Anything Goes (Ensemble) directed by Michael Kidney. She returned the Heights Players a few months later in Hello Dolly (Featured Singer) and recently played a Follies Girl in Crazy for You.. Kelly played the title role in Ginny by Anna Fox at the Samuel French Off Off Broadway Festival. Kelly made her debut with the AlphaNYC Theatre Company in Skirtz, an evening of short plays, playing Haley in Walleroo.
Kelly can soon be seen in an episode of the web series These Three Girls as the Sandwich girl. Kelly is proudly Sag Eligible after filming her part in this series! Kelly most recently played Girl 1 in Cover: A Story about Trafficking ​with Stomping Ground Theatre Company!

When not performing in shows Kelly enjoys spending time with friends and is currently teaching herself the ukulele. She is also a lover of all things Disney! Kelly recently started baking cupcakes! Check out her new cupcake blog at www.broadwaycupcakes.wordpress.com
